EOLOS and BlueFloat Energy have signed a five-year global frame agreement for turn-key floating LiDAR campaign services, with the immediate contract award of eight campaigns representing the largest single volume transaction for EOLOS to date.
Leading international offshore wind developer BlueFloat Energy, headquartered in Madrid, has awarded a supply frame agreement for the delivery and operation of site-specific wind and metocean campaigns to EOLOS Floating Lidar Solutions. The pioneering frame agreement comes with assured volume and delivery commitments, reducing supply chain uncertainty for BlueFloat Energy and providing efficiencies throughout the project execution process.
Luis Miguel García González, Director of Wind and Site Assessment for BlueFloat Energy confirmed
“BlueFloat Energy from the start had the intention to foster a close working relationship with a leading vendor in their field that is capable to provide consistent results across our current and future portfolio. EOLOS stands out as the leading technology choice and has demonstrated its capability for consistent project performance and appetite for growth.”
Commercial Director for EOLOS, Julian Harland observed
“A move to frame agreements is a reflection of how the market is adapting where developers seek a partnership approach, with technical excellence and agility. The timing is perfect: EOLOS has attained Carbon Trust Stage 3 credentials while building up its project execution team to take on new geographies.
First deployments are slated for the beginning of 2023.
EOLOS offers a combination of wind, ocean and environmental turn-key measuring solutions and digital services to the offshore wind industry. EOLOS obtained the highest commercial maturity, known as Stage 3, in April 2022 as defined by the UK’s Carbon Trust. Stage 3 signifies the highest possible level of availability and performance, providing minimal levels of uncertainty in site specific measurements. EOLOS’ products and digital services gather data efficiently for offshore wind developers and operators globally accelerating the development phase while lowering costs and risk. EOLOS’ product, the FLS200, is a multi-purpose, autonomous buoy that integrates cutting edge sensors to measure wind, ocean and environmental characteristics reducing uncertainty and inherent risks during the development, operation and maintenance phase of the offshore wind farm.
BlueFloat Energy is developing offshore wind projects in various regions of the world, where it can implement its vision: to accelerate global deployment of offshore wind as a key enabler for the energy transition and economic growth. Founded by renewable energy professionals, BlueFloat Energy brings together remarkable team expertise in the design, development, financing, construction and execution of offshore wind projects.
